Long-term substitute, covering the beginning of the academic year with flexible hours based on program requirements.

REPORTS TO:
Special Education Supervisors/Director, Building Principals

SUPERVISION:
Collaborates with and oversees the activities of special education paraprofessionals.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Current special education teaching license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). Preferred: Previous relevant experience and multi-categorical licenses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Instructional Planning and Preparation: Exhibit expertise in content and pedagogy, understand student needs, select instructional objectives, utilize resources effectively, design coherent instruction, and assess student learning.
  • Classroom Environment: Cultivate a culture of respect and learning, manage classroom procedures, oversee student behavior, and organize the physical learning space.
  • Instructional Interaction: Communicate clearly, employ questioning and discussion techniques, engage students in learning, provide constructive feedback, and demonstrate adaptability.
  • Professional Responsibilities: Reflect on teaching practices, maintain accurate records, communicate with families, contribute to the school and district, pursue professional growth, and uphold professionalism.
