About the Position

Napa County is seeking a skilled Mental Health Counselor to join the Access Unit of Behavioral Health. As a key member of the team, you will provide comprehensive assessments, intake services, and counseling to individuals and families in need.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine eligibility for Medi-Cal services
  • Provide counseling services to adults, older adults, children, and youth struggling with mental illness and behavioral challenges
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address client needs
  • Collaborate with community-based organizations, law enforcement, and county services to provide comprehensive support
  • Work effectively with diverse populations, including minority groups and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work, marriage and family counseling, clinical psychology, or a related field
  • Current licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
  • Two years of experience in mental health counseling, including experience working with diverse populations
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent customer service
