Radiology Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for operating x-ray equipment to produce high-quality radiographs of designated portions of the body.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by a physician
- Accountable for the performance and documentation of all diagnostic procedures utilizing proper technical parameters to produce quality studies
- Knowledgeable in the safe use, maneuverability, and operation of all general radiography, portable, and fluoro equipment
- Proficient in the performance of general diagnostic procedures, including general fluoroscopy procedures, if applicable
- Adheres to infection prevention, isolation, and sterile techniques in patient handling and delivery of care
- Adheres to ALARA principles in performance of exams to reduce exposure to self, the patient, and others
- Obtains and records pertinent patient history, explains the procedure to the patient, and ensures patient comfort during the performance of the exam
- Reviews radiographs to ensure optimum quality and reports environmental/equipment problems to appropriate resource personnel
- Performs required computer functions for RIS/HIS systems and maintains supplies needed to ensure adequate levels for quality patient care
- Ensures cleanliness of equipment and work area and maintains inventory of supplies in the work area
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- Ability to handle patient information in a confidential manner
- Ability to work weekends and holidays to accommodate patient care needs
- Ability to work rotating shifts any day of the week
