Mentor Position at The Camden Center

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mentor to join our team at The Camden Center in Palo Alto. As a Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting clients with mental health and addiction challenges, helping them achieve their reintegration goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide face-to-face weekly sessions with clients, offering support and guidance in their recovery journey.
  • Monitor clients to ensure their safety and well-being, conducting home visits and medication counts as needed.
  • Assist clients in developing life skills, such as resume building, scheduling, and budgeting, to promote independence.
  • Engage in recovery-related activities with clients, such as exercise, meditation, and 12-step meetings, to foster a sense of community and support.
  • Provide phone support for clients, maintaining ongoing communication with the case manager and documenting all sessions and interactions.
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with mental health treatment and services, with some trauma and addiction-informed skills preferred.
  • Open to pursuing education in the field of mental health, counseling, or addiction studies.
  • CPR certification and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to manage potential issues, and maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
