Join the College for Creative Studies (CCS), a leading college of art and design, as a Studio Art and Craft Technician. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the physical studio spaces and equipment in various areas.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires close collaboration with Section Leads to establish and implement ongoing maintenance schedules for all SA&C studios. You will be responsible for fulfilling requests for materials and tool or equipment purchases, researching options best suited for educational studio use.

You will coordinate ordering, organization, and maintaining availability of material resources in SA&C studios. Additionally, you will assist in routine and unanticipated maintenance of shop tools and equipment, supervise work study students, and ensure OSHA safety regulations are being observed and maintained.

As a Studio Art and Craft Technician, you will work closely with faculty, staff, and administration to plan facilities and projects. This role requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student and faculty populace.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • In-depth expertise of tools, equipment, and processes in various areas, including Printmaking, Painting, Ceramics, Fibers, Sculpture, and Glass.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
  • High degree of knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience in construction and craftsmanship, including utility equipment such as metal or wood storage areas, tables, etc.
  • Valid driver's license required for picking up requested materials and tools.

What We Offer

We offer competitive salary ranging from $55,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
