We are seeking a highly skilled Ceramic Professor and Studio Artist to join our team at the College for Creative Studies (CCS). This is a full-time faculty position in the Studio Art and Craft department with an emphasis on Ceramic Arts.

About the Position:
This is a full-time faculty position that includes teaching three courses per semester, maintaining a superior pedagogy in ceramics, and contributing to curriculum development. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two-three years of teaching experience in higher education and an MFA in Ceramics. Experience teaching upper-level multi-disciplinary critique-based courses and collaborative teaching is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Teach three courses per semester, including introductory and advanced ceramics classes
- Maintain a superior pedagogy in ceramics, adhering to current standards and professional practice
- Contribute to curriculum development, working closely with the Department Chair and Director of CE
- Search, hire, and evaluate adjunct faculty as needed in the Ceramics area
- Oversight and maintenance of all Ceramics classrooms and equipment
- Management of inventory and purchase of materials and supplies
Qualifications:
- MFA in Ceramics with a minimum of two-three years of teaching experience in higher education
- Experience teaching upper-level multi-disciplinary critique-based courses and collaborative teaching is a plus
- Demonstrated active studio practice with an accomplished exhibition and/or design record
- Ability to mentor and work with students from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary art, theory, and practice
- Dedication to and understanding of DEI as the basis of pedagogy, mentoring, collegiality, and community
Salary and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to competitive salary and benefits, CCS offers a comprehensive package that includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as a 403(b) retirement plan and paid time off.
