About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled EHS and IT Representative to join our team at American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the safety of our associates, visitors, and contractors, as well as protecting the environment and maintaining compliance with global and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and submit accident reports to AAM and regulatory agencies, and report incidents in the EHS System (Donesafe) as required.
  • Participate in the weekly Global EHS call every Monday morning.
  • Conduct tests and field investigations to obtain data for use by environmental, engineering, and scientific personnel.
  • Direct the plant safety team and make studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards.
  • Formulate general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company or plant personnel.
  • Work with HR to contribute to the development and update of safety policies and handbooks.
  • Inspect and audit facilities and work areas to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards.
  • Report Environmental KPIs to the monthly Steering Committee.
  • Develop and coordinate training programs to increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness.
  • Ensure the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of the EMS in accordance with ISO 14001 Standards.
  • Update the monthly compliance calendar and monitor and report on Environmental issues.
  • Maintain S4 status through the 11 Elements of our corporate EH&S Systems.
  • Install new server hardware and software according to standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in hardware and software configuration and change management processes.
  • Provide statistics of systems usage, systems outages, and end-user requests.
  • Participate in system disaster recovery tests to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Contribute to and maintain the security posture of the system in accordance with AAM policies.
  • Troubleshoot issues with server hardware and software.
  • Create, change, and delete user accounts as necessary.
  • Open support cases with external vendors when required.
  • Perform scheduled server maintenance activities, including patching, replacing failed hardware, and expanding file systems.
  • Perform ongoing server and SAN performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.
Requirements
  • Degree in a related field, or 7+ years of experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to facilitate safety training.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and communicate information regarding compliance performance or other business issues strictly on a need-to-know basis.
