Job Overview

Position Summary

The individual in this role will oversee the laboratory testing activities and personnel responsible for analyzing and reporting on a variety of products, including crude oil, fuel oils, middle distillates, and petrochemicals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in understanding laboratory analysis results.
  • Verify the authenticity of laboratory analysis certificates.
  • Manage client orders for submitted samples, providing updates on job progress.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of sampling methodologies.
  • Ensure adherence to the Laboratory Quality Assurance Manual and Safety Protocols.
  • Conduct testing and analysis, along with other assigned duties.
  • Oversee quality control of laboratory solutions and standards.
  • Uphold the SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct at all times.
  • Manage timekeeping for team members.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, preferably with a focus on chemistry or a related discipline. (Required)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a management or supervisory capacity. (Required)
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas sector is preferred. (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and calibration processes.

  • Ability to work with various chemicals, petrochemicals, and petroleum products.
  • Strong communication, writing, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Physical Requirements
