About the Role

We are seeking a skilled EKG Technician I to join our team at Billings Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for operating electrocardiographic equipment, cardiac event monitor equipment, and stress testing equipment to record and analyze the electrical impulses of the heart.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a complete understanding of electrocardiogram (EKG) analysis and maintain a high level of knowledge by utilizing education opportunities.
  • Maintain, clean, troubleshoot, and operate EKG carts, various cardiac monitors, and stress test equipment to conduct numerous diagnostic tests throughout the facility.
  • Review patient charts and histories, introduce yourself, acquire two forms of patient ID, and educate patients on the purpose and procedure of the test.
  • Attach electrodes to the proper predetermined positions according to American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines and observe patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist providers with various stress testing protocols and operate computer systems to perform clerical duties, including data entry, billing, order review/entry, chart review, EKG review, and alerts.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Preferred: courses in mathematics and science.
  • Preferred: six (6) months previous ECG, cardiac event monitor, and stress testing experience.
  • Required: completion of the Certified Cardiac Technician (CCT) exam within three (3) years of employment.
  • Required: Healthcare Provider CPR Certification at hire.
