About the Job

Billings Clinic is seeking a skilled EKG Technician I to join our team. As an EKG Technician I, you will be responsible for operating electrocardiographic equipment, cardiac event monitor equipment, and stress testing equipment to record and/or analyze the electrical impulses of the heart.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a complete understanding of electrocardiogram (EKG) analysis and maintain a high level of knowledge by utilizing education opportunities.
  • Maintain, clean, troubleshoot, and operate EKG carts, various cardiac monitors, and stress test equipment to conduct numerous diagnostic tests throughout the facility.
  • Review patient chart and history, introduce yourself, acquire two forms of patient ID, and educate the patient by explaining the purpose and procedure of the test.
  • Attach electrodes to the proper predetermined positions according to American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines and observe patient privacy/confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist providers with various stress testing protocols and operate computer systems, perform clerical duties, including data entry, billing, order review/entry, chart review, EKG review, and alerts.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Courses in mathematics and science, preferred.
  • Six (6) months previous ECG, cardiac event monitor, and stress testing experience, preferred.
