Diesel Mechanic/Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team at I-State Truck Center. As a Diesel Mechanic/Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related components in trucks, buses, and other heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and maintain diesel engines and components in various vehicles and equipment
  • Accurately diagnose complex diesel engine conditions and make necessary repairs
  • Communicate effectively with peers, foremen, and service teams regarding repairs
  • Ensure quality control and maximum customer satisfaction
  • Meet requirements for certifications and maintain accurate paperwork
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license (bonus compensation for CDL holders)
  • Good work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability
  • Excellent understanding of Detroit Diesel engines through the current GHG17 product
  • Experience with other diesel engine platforms such as Cummins, CAT, and International (a plus)
  • Other mechanical skills desired but not essential: hydraulics, brakes, suspension, manual transmissions, drive train, and automatic transmissions
  • Ability to lift and work with no restrictions
