About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Engineer III to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Global Supply Chain organization, you will be responsible for building and maintaining data models, deploying machine learning models, developing automations, and visualizing data to support our mission of making humanity a multi-planetary species.

Responsibilities
  • Craft and develop scalable reporting, dashboards, and data solutions using SQL, Tableau, and other tools to support our supply chain leaders and program management.
  • Develop automation solutions to integrate disparate systems and automate otherwise manual workload, ensuring seamless data flow and minimizing errors.
  • Create analytical data models that support standardized metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Collaborate with supply chain leaders and program management to identify and build metrics that enable leaders to lead their teams effectively.
  • Build strategic reporting solutions for leadership to support Weekly Business Reviews (WBR) and Monthly Business Reviews (MBR), providing actionable insights to drive business growth.
  • Work with partners and domain specialists to generate reporting, application, and integration requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide business analysis and technical expertise to internal and external partners, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Maintain day-to-day workflow and communication with a variety of partners across the company, ensuring seamless collaboration and information exchange.
Requirements
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience, with a strong foundation in data analysis, machine learning, and software development.
  • Have strong SQL skills in an analytics context to build sophisticated datasets and models, enabling data access to less data-savvy users across the entire enterprise.
  • Experience using Python to structure data frames (Pandas, etc.), develop automations, build machine learning models (XGBoost), and create data visualizations (Seaborn, Matplotlib).
  • Familiarity with version control to check in production code in a shared repository, ensuring collaboration and code quality.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy, with excellent written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Self-starter, strong bias for action, with the ability to work side by side with business users to scope analytics and automation requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with AWS Services, especially Sagemaker, ECS, and Docker, with experience in container orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, PLM tools, and supply chain operations, with experience building data models in DBT.
  • Experience with hierarchical data structures and recursive processing techniques, as well as knowledge of ETL tools and processes.
