About the Role
The Associate Manager of Media Relations and Communications is a key member of the Global Corporate Affairs, Communication, and Sustainability team at SC Johnson. This role requires a media professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to craft creative press releases, build relationships with targeted media outlets, and track emerging issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft compelling press releases highlighting corporate initiatives and achievements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts and influencers.
- Monitor and analyze media trends and coverage to inform strategic communications decisions.
- Assist the team in tracking and responding to emerging issues and crises.
- Provide copywriting and editing services for a range of external communications, including press releases, media kits, and other materials.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement communications strategies that support business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of the media relations landscape and the ability to navigate complex communications issues.
