The Role:
This Pastry Cook position offers a unique chance to work with a passionate and driven team of chefs. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for creating high-quality dishes that exceed our guests' expectations. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and grow with our team, while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, professionalism, and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Head Pastry Chef to achieve the highest quality standards.
- Develop new menu ideas and train other team members on preparation techniques.
- Maintain the highest standards of health, sanitation, and safety in food handling and overall cleanliness.
- Follow recipes, pictures, and specifications to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Participate in mise en place production, efficiently producing ingredients as requested by the Head Pastry Chef.
- Keep a clean and organized workspace, promoting a positive attitude and assisting colleagues when needed.
- Contribute to minimizing waste and discarding spoiled food products according to company procedure.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-pressure service environment.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience working in a similar role.
- A strong background in fine dining, with a focus on pastry arts.
- A professional approach to leadership in a busy atmosphere.
- A strong work ethic and customer-focused mindset.
- Culinary training and experience, with a passion for growth and development.
- Food safety certification.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to operate and use all necessary equipment in the kitchen.
- Flexibility to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
- Ability to stand for up to 8-10 hours per day.
