Position Overview:

KIPP Jacksonville is seeking dedicated Facility Maintenance Specialists to enhance our team. In this role, custodians will primarily engage in routine cleaning tasks, with a focus on teamwork. The position involves approximately 90% routine cleaning, 5% emergency cleaning, and 5% additional responsibilities as assigned. This is a full-time position with typical 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Maintenance: Ensure clean floors through daily sweeping and mopping, sanitize desks and tables, manage trash disposal, and maintain cleanliness of windows and air vents.
  • Restroom Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness of restroom facilities, including daily cleaning of toilets, sinks, and mirrors, as well as restocking supplies.
  • Exterior Upkeep: Keep outdoor areas tidy by managing debris and trash in parking lots and entrances.
  • Office Cleaning: Sanitize office spaces, including desks and carpets, while ensuring trash is removed regularly.
  • Hallway and Stairwell Maintenance: Maintain clean floors and walls, ensuring a welcoming environment throughout the school.
  • Emergency Cleaning: Respond to and manage cleaning needs arising from facility emergencies.

  • Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality.

  • Team Collaboration: Maintain a positive attitude and communicate respectfully with colleagues.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in floor maintenance.
  • Previous custodial experience in educational or public settings.

Compensation:

Hourly pay is $11.50, with free individual health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 403(b) retirement program with company matching.
