KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Uphold the commitment to exceptional service in all interactions with guests and clients, adhering to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
  • Proactively identify and report hazardous conditions, emergencies, or security threats affecting guests, staff, or hotel property.
  • Execute maintenance tasks including the replacement of ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, and performing repairs on plumbing, toilets, sinks, and kitchen equipment. Carry out assigned preventative maintenance duties.
  • Assess the performance of equipment and electrical systems, such as air conditioning units and lighting, making necessary minor repairs or replacements to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Restore and maintain furniture and fixtures, including cabinets and tables, ensuring they are in excellent condition for guest use.
  • Ensure the exterior of the property, including grounds and recreational facilities, is safe and well-maintained, including snow removal and lighting upkeep.
  • Adhere to protocols that safeguard the security of tools, supplies, and equipment.
  • Keep the front entrance, parking area, and surrounding environment clean and inviting.
  • Prepare and ensure that all assigned equipment is ready for the next day's operations.
  • Conduct maintenance and repair work on both the interior and exterior of buildings, including guest rooms, HVAC systems, and water treatment facilities.
  • Implement preventative maintenance as outlined in the PM Works program, which includes inspecting facilities and maintaining logs of scheduled work and repairs.
  • Foster collaboration and quality service through effective communication with other departments.
  • Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Completion of advanced vocational training with a minimum of two years of experience in general maintenance or construction, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the extended stay or apartment maintenance sector is preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and equipment mechanics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
  • Strong reading and writing skills are necessary for understanding daily instructions and equipment manuals.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including budgeting and understanding profit/loss concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and motivational skills.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move throughout the facility regularly.
  • Capability to handle tools and equipment necessary for facility maintenance.
  • Regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals is required.
  • Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
