Community Impact Associate

United Way of South Central Michigan is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Community Impact Associate to join our team. As a key member of our Community Impact team, you will play a critical role in supporting our community-centered, strategic grantmaking activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Contribute to an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organizational culture that centers people in every solution, process, and function. Advance the organization's mission through equitable grantmaking with a strategic focus on expanding support to Asset-Limited Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) households and those who historically and presently experience systemic barriers to access.
- Community Engagement and Relationship Building: Develop, strengthen, and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders across geographical areas of focus and greater United Way of South Central Michigan region. Serve as a staff ambassador of United Way of South Central Michigan at various community meetings, conferences, committees, and events.
- Grant Management and Compliance: Maintain compliance with internal and external grant processes, including state and federally funded programs. Work cross-functionally within the organization to ensure that strategic grantmaking outcomes are met and the work is part of a coordinated approach to accomplish United Way of South Central Michigan's vision and mission.
- Demonstrates a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion and ability to apply anti-oppressive and anti-racist principles in the workplace and community.
- Familiarity with Kalamazoo and Battle Creek communities preferred.
- Experience including or translatable to grant making, including building relationships with individuals, organizations, and community coalitions to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to engage with community members, community partners, staff, and grantees.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Adobe Pro.
- Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Reliable transportation for travel within the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Area.
