Role Summary:
As a Project Engineer, you will work in close collaboration with the Project Manager, on-site Superintendent, clients, and design professionals to ensure project delivery is timely, within budget, and meets or exceeds client expectations. Your primary location will be in the Eugene office, with necessary travel to project sites and the option for remote work as needed. You will be responsible for managing project documentation and serving as a technical liaison for contract documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the success of the construction team on commercial projects under the guidance of a Project Manager.
- Manage daily operations of prime contracts, trade contracts, and purchase orders, working alongside subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
- Ensure efficient project document control, including submittals, RFIs, and payment applications.
- Oversee project costs and change management, including change orders and back-charges.
- Develop and maintain critical path schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of Invitations to Bid (ITB), project manuals, and work scopes.
- Support contract drafting, project accounting, and budget management.
- Coordinate with field staff to ensure timely supply of materials, equipment, and labor.
- Help field staff establish and maintain quality control measures.
- Assist with compliance to safety regulations.
- Support operations staff with estimating and procurement processes.
- Utilize industry-specific software, including ProCore, Primavera P6, and MS Office Suite.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A commitment to working collaboratively within a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, climb stairs, and use ladders.
- Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer tasks.
- Visual acuity for near, mid, and far distances, including color and depth perception.
- Ability to hear conversational levels and alarms.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
