The Dean of Health Sciences will provide strategic leadership and support for innovation and excellence in teaching, learning, assessment, and student success at College of Eastern Idaho. This role will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure operational effectiveness within the Health Sciences division, driving growth in student enrollment, improving faculty and staff capacity, and developing new programs to meet the needs of business and industry in region six of Idaho.
Key Responsibilities- Advocate for faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders in the mission of the College of Eastern Idaho
- Build relationships with business, industry, and educational leaders to ensure CEI offers programs that meet community needs
- Develop external relationships for donations, capital funding, student clinicals/internships, and student scholarships
- Coordinate and administer class scheduling and teaching assignments for faculty
- Monitor enrollment patterns, cost/benefit information, employment, and other development needs
- Develop processes to improve enrollment/transfer and job placement, reducing time to degree and improving student satisfaction
- Plan, organize, and monitor expenditures of Health Sciences Division's budgets
- Hire qualified faculty and provide professional development
- Participate in the Academic Standards Committee as a voting member
- Provide leadership in program and department accreditations and reports
- Evaluate faculty, department chairs, and classified staff reporting directly to this position
- Research and design new program offerings and instructional technologies
- Participate in institutional accreditation activities
- Advocate and represent the department on committees, councils, and task-forces at the college, local, and state level
- Participate in policy formulation related to instructional programs, curriculum development, delivery of credit student development, and administrative services
- Ensure timely completion of assessment program review and specialized accreditations for programs
- Maintain a good working relationship with the Idaho State Board of Education
- Develop, maintain, and promote articulation agreements with four-year colleges and universities
- Develop opportunities for delivery of classes and programs in rural Idaho areas
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Collaborate with the Dean of Early College to promote and provide courses and programs through Dual Credit
- Collaborate with Workforce Training to align courses and/or programs where appropriate
- Master's degree from an accredited college in a teaching discipline, education, educational administration/management, or healthcare field
- Three years of leadership and administrative experience in educational leadership or demonstrated equivalency
- Three academic years or the equivalent of post-secondary classroom teaching
- Demonstrated analytic and problem-solving skills
- Incumbent must reside in the State of Idaho
- Community college or two-year technical college experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare education in Idaho
- Experience with professional accrediting bodies
- Experience in supervising faculty and staff in daily divisional operations, budget management, and program coordination
- Training or demonstrated experience in management, organizational development, teaching and learning, revenue generation, policy development, and working with college transfer programs
- Bilingual (Spanish)
