Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect complex systems within a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) framework, leading a diverse team to design, integrate, and validate sophisticated avionics and aerospace solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively to define hardware specifications for advanced flight-capable avionics and aerospace components.
  • Engage directly with clients and internal teams to clarify system requirements and design architectures that align with client needs.
  • Assist management in marketing initiatives, proposal writing, and the development of strategic product and technology roadmaps.


Daily Tasks:
  • Engineer intricate embedded avionics for new projects, sustainment efforts, and modernization initiatives.
  • Oversee the development, integration, and testing of firmware within complex embedded avionics, potentially leading a cross-functional team.
  • Conduct meetings with both internal and external stakeholders to gather technical requirements and aid in the creation of specification documents and system designs.
  • Lead analytical studies and evaluations across relevant domains.
  • Support departmental strategies, internal research and development projects, marketing efforts, and long-term planning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assign functions to systems and develop those into detailed requirements.


Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in developing, deriving, allocating, and testing complex avionics specifications, with a preference for experience in implementing RTOS (such as Green Hills or VxWorks).
  • Proven experience in system architecture design.
  • Preferred background in embedded development of standard avionics communication protocols (e.g., PCIe, 429, Ethernet, 1553), as well as proficiency in C++ and C. Familiarity with business and engineering processes in avionics development is advantageous.
  • Preferred experience in establishing and applying cybersecurity requirements, along with integrating hardware and troubleshooting in a laboratory setting using tools like logic analyzers and power supplies.
  • A valid driver's license is required.


Additional Information:

The selected candidate will undergo a government security clearance process and must meet the eligibility criteria for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required.
