Phlebotomist Per Diem Opportunity

Cary Medical Center is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join their Laboratory team on a per diem basis. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in the collection of biological specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring the highest quality samples for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood and other biological specimens from patients in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Process specimens for laboratory testing, adhering to strict quality control measures.
  • Collaborate with laboratory technologists to ensure seamless sample processing and testing.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, explaining procedures and answering questions in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
  • Respond promptly to STAT and URGENT requests, prioritizing patient needs.
  • Meet or exceed quality standards for specimen collection, including a 95% success rate for single-needle draws.
Requirements:
  • No license required; on-the-job training provided.
  • Obtain Phlebotomy Certification within the first 6 months of employment.
  • CPR and basic first aid certification recommended.
  • High school graduate or equivalent GED.
Work Schedule:

As a per diem Phlebotomist, you may be required to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility to float to other units may be necessary to meet patient and staff needs.
