Phlebotomist Job Opportunity at Cary Medical Center

Cary Medical Center is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join their Laboratory team. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in collecting biological specimens for laboratory procedures and assisting technologists in sample processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect high-quality specimens from inpatients and outpatients with minimal needle sticks.
  • Respond promptly to computer orders and telephone requests, ensuring timely specimen collection.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing their concerns.
  • Order the correct tests as indicated on medical provider requisitions.
  • Respond to STAT and URGENT requests, prioritizing specimen collection.
  • Collect various types of specimens, including blood, nasal, and nasopharyngeal swabs.
Requirements:
  • No license required; on-the-job training provided.
  • Obtain Phlebotomy Certification within the first 6 months of employment.
  • CPR and basic first aid recommended.
  • High school graduate or equivalent GED.
Work Schedule:

As a Phlebotomist at Cary Medical Center, you may be required to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. You may also be asked to float to other units as needed.
