Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food and Beverage Service Manager to join our team at Oak View Group. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for overseeing the serving of guests in our venue dining areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the serving of meals to guests and direct guests to the buffet line.
  • Supervise the service of beverages to guests, including alcoholic beverages, and verify minimum age requirements for purchase.
  • Assist in recording guest orders and relay orders to the kitchen via POS system.
  • Observe guests to respond to additional requests and determine when meals are completed.
  • Compute the cost of meals and present guests with checks, accepting payments and providing change as necessary.
  • Ensure tableware and linens are replaced as needed.
  • Recommend dishes and identify ingredients or explain menu preparation methods.
  • Supervise the setup of banquet functions, including linens, dishware, glassware, and silverware.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Recognize visibly intoxicated guests and take action to cut off alcohol service.
  • Enforce Ovations policies and procedures.
  • Practice excellent HR skills, including employee relations, corrective action, coaching, and counseling.
  • Assist management with projects, including training, inventory, and special events.
Requirements
  • At least 1-2 years' experience in a supervisory capacity in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment or applicable education.
  • Ability to supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, coworkers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation, and product inventory.
