Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is seeking a Lead Backend TypeScript/Node Engineer for a
Contract opportunity with one of our esteemed Regulatory clients.



This position is fully remote.
We are looking for a highly proficient and seasoned Lead Backend TypeScript/Node Engineer to join our innovative team.

The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of expertise in backend engineering, a robust grasp of agile practices, and a solid history in AWS development along with test-driven development.

This role necessitates an in-depth knowledge of serverless architecture, microservices, RESTful services, and object-oriented design principles. Exceptional communication abilities are crucial, and experience in the financial services sector is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and sustain scalable backend systems utilizing TypeScript.
  • Create and uphold RESTful services to facilitate various applications.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers and other team members to integrate user-facing components with server-side logic.
  • Implement and oversee CI/CD pipelines for application deployment on AWS.
  • Develop serverless applications leveraging AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and additional AWS services.
  • Architect and execute microservices-based solutions.
  • Apply object-oriented design principles to construct robust and maintainable code.
  • Champion and practice test-driven development (TDD) to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Engage in agile ceremonies and contribute to ongoing enhancements within the team.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and clients.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development with TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of AWS services and cloud-based development.
  • Demonstrated experience with test-driven development (TDD).
  • Expertise in serverless computing and microservices architecture.
  • Solid comprehension of object-oriented design principles.
  • Experience in building and maintaining RESTful services.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to work effectively in an agile environment.
  • Background in financial services is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certification in AWS or other relevant technologies.
  • Familiarity with database design and management.
