Position Summary:

We are in search of a highly qualified and seasoned Lead Structural Engineer to enhance our team. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in structural engineering, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to addressing intricate engineering challenges. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, evaluation, and construction of both vertical (buildings) and horizontal (bridges, roads, and infrastructure) projects, ensuring they meet safety, functionality, and sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the design and evaluation of structural projects, encompassing both vertical and horizontal structures.
  • Prepare and assess comprehensive engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Conduct site assessments and inspections to verify adherence to design specifications and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to formulate integrated solutions.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers, providing essential technical support.
  • Stay informed about industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Engage in project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
  • Execute structural calculations and simulations utilizing advanced engineering software.
Qualifications:
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience required; 15 years preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field required; Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Experience with WMATA is a plus.
  • Proficient in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, Revit, AutoCAD).
  • Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., AISC, ACI, ASCE).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and delivering projects effectively.
