The Senior Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving is a key leadership position at Lighthouse, responsible for driving the organization's fundraising efforts to secure significant financial resources and support its mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for major gifts and planned giving programs to meet and exceed fundraising goals, aligning with Lighthouse's overall mission and objectives.
  • Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with a portfolio of major donors and prospects, conducting face-to-face meetings, presentations, and events to engage and solicit support.
  • Planned Giving Program Management: Design and manage a planned giving program, including identifying potential donors, creating marketing materials, and developing personalized solicitation strategies.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize donor database and CRM systems to track progress, analyze data, and generate reports on fundraising activities, refining strategies and improving outcomes.
  • Events and Campaigns: Plan and execute donor recognition events, fundraising campaigns, and other activities to engage and inspire donors, coordinating with marketing and communications teams to enhance outreach efforts.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for major gifts and planned giving initiatives, ensuring effective use of resources and alignment with organizational priorities.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on major gifts and planned giving.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred.
  • Skills: Proven track record of securing significant major gifts and planned gifts, strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and highly organized and detail-oriented.
