Senior Development Director

The San Francisco Zoological Society (SFZOO) is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Development Director to lead its Development Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the Zoo's mission and goals.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in fundraising, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in development and supervision. They will be responsible for managing a team of development staff, overseeing the development budget, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
The Senior Development Director will work closely with the Executive Director/CEO, the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders to identify and pursue strategic development opportunities. They will also be responsible for planning and executing annual fundraising events, managing donor relationships, and developing and implementing strategies to increase donations from individual donors, private foundations, corporations, and government entities.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong communicator, and a collaborative leader who can build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. They will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
