Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Vocational Instruction Project Community Services Inc.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Licensed Practical Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care to clients, ensuring they receive optimum, cost-effective care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote a professional and respectful atmosphere in all interactions with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Facilitate the smooth operation of agency functions by adhering to policies and standards of conduct.
  • Assist clients in following their prescribed plan of care.
  • Administer medication according to policy and procedures.
  • Monitor clients for signs of intoxication and medication side effects, reporting any concerns to the Nurse Manager or designee.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication received and dispensed.
  • Document and maintain client medical records in accordance with institutional and regulatory agency mandates.
  • Perform tasks and responsibilities within the scope of practice, including casefinding, health teaching, health counseling, and provision of supportive or restorative care under the direction of the registered professional nurse.
  • Role model for staff and clients.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager.
  • Maintain good working relationships with all employees.
  • Participate in Job Training and Education Programs, Meetings, and Committees.
  • Attend mandatory in-service annually.
  • Participate in various committees and meetings as requested.
  • Attend seminars to further professional development.
Requirements:
  • Current NYS LPN License.
  • Current NYS Infection Control Certificate.
  • Minimum one year experience as an LPN, preferably in a substance abuse treatment program.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all populations served.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Proficiency with computers.
Setting:

This position requires the ability to perform essential functions with sight and digital senses or prosthetics.
