Job Summary

As a Medical Front Desk Receptionist at New York Cancer & Blood Specialists, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting patients and visitors, managing the reception area, and assisting with daily administrative tasks. You will also be responsible for scheduling appointments, collecting co-pays, and maintaining accurate patient records. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily opening and closing procedures of the office
  • Welcome patients and visitors in a professional and pleasant manner
  • Assist with comforting patients and maintaining the reception area
  • Answer telephones, respond to inquiries, and resolve issues
  • Collect co-pays and balance the office finances on a daily basis
  • Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documentation
  • Build and maintain patient records using the practice EMR system
  • Build, monitor, and maintain physician schedules according to suggested scheduling rubrics
  • Assist with daily distribution of quality assurance surveys and prevention screenings
  • Monitor and respond to incoming messages from Care Team inboxes in collaboration with the nurse
  • Monitor daily visit lists to ensure all patients who require appointments are scheduled appropriately
  • Protect patient privacy by adhering to HIPAA confidentiality guidelines
  • Contribute to a team effort by smoothly transitioning into other related daily roles as necessary
  • Maintain daily operations of the office by following standard policies and procedures
  • Perform tasks as assigned for special projects
  • Perform general clerical duties and complete various forms
  • Manage the physician's calendar, prioritizing and resolving conflicts

Requirements
  • High School diploma with at least 1 year of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Two years of experience as an administrative assistant
  • Ability to accept direction and work within a team concept
  • Possession of typing and computer skills an asset
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Previous experience an asset
  • Spanish speaking preferred
