The primary focus will be on new building structural design, with opportunities to gain insights into existing building analysis and renovation design.

A typical work week may involve engineering calculations, development of drawings, client interactions, construction administration tasks, and site evaluations. Projects are generally located within the regional area but may also extend nationally, providing opportunities for travel.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

- Generate high-quality project documentation utilizing computer design and graphics software.


- Support the Project Manager in construction administration tasks, including shop drawing reviews, field observations, and responding to inquiries.


- Engage in personal professional development through research on code requirements, asking insightful questions, and attending technical training seminars.


- Collaborate with team members to provide exceptional engineering solutions for clients.



- Build rapport and trust with clients through excellent communication and quality engineering work.



- Develop project management skills under the mentorship of a Project Manager.



- Assist in mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
- Registered Professional Engineer.


- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of four years (or Master’s degree with a minimum of three years) of progressive civil or structural engineering experience.


Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a focus on Structures.

- Strong communication and technical skills that instill confidence.

- Ability to design, detail, coordinate, and manage small to medium-sized projects within specified timeframes and budgets.

- Experience overseeing multiple engineering projects from design inception to construction completion.

- Demonstrated time management skills to effectively plan and execute projects.

- Commitment to ongoing personal growth and development in all aspects of work.

- Active member of professional and/or technical societies.

- Regular participation in training to enhance knowledge of consulting engineering practices.

- PE license in the state of New Mexico is highly desirable.
