We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Management Trainee to join our Track and Structures Engineering Team at BNSF Railway. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the movement of essential products and materials across the nation's freight rail network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, repair, and construct track infrastructure, including rails, ties, and ballast, to uphold BNSF's standards.
  • Plan and schedule required maintenance and repairs, verifying the quality of work completed.
  • Expand and update BNSF infrastructure, overseeing projects that interact with BNSF property.
  • Manage the safety of your teams and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
  • Opportunity to shadow positions such as Supervisor Engineering Support, Assistant Roadmaster, Roadmaster, and Division Engineer to gain hands-on experience.
Requirements
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and at least 18 years old upon hire.
  • Does not require sponsorship to obtain, maintain, or extend authorization to work in the United States.
  • Capable of working in a 24/7 environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and can safely perform duties outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Able and willing to relocate anywhere on the BNSF Railway operating system upon hire, career progression, and/or business needs.
  • Pursuing an Associate degree in industrial trade, including welding, diesel engine repair, process tech, HVAC, automotive tech, electrician tech, construction management, or other heavy industrial discipline from an accredited college/vocational school to be completed prior to hire.
  • Have and/or will graduate with at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.
  • Have LESS THAN three (3) years of professional work experience, EXCLUDING internships, part-time jobs, or positions held while pursuing my undergraduate and/or graduate degree.
