Position Overview

The Industrial Systems Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that all engineered systems orders undergo comprehensive testing to fulfill the quality standards expected by our clients, both internal and external. This position involves providing technical assistance, troubleshooting equipment, validating completed engineered systems products, and generating the necessary validation documentation. The technician will operate both independently and collaboratively with Operations and Engineering teams to guarantee that each system is finalized according to the established timeline.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct final evaluations of engineered system orders following predefined testing protocols. Execute troubleshooting for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC issues as required, updating system documentation to incorporate any modifications. Propose permanent corrective measures for recurring internal failure modes through redesign, error rectification, or training initiatives. Develop new testing protocols based on insights from Field Engineering or Quality Teams. Ensure that staging equipment is maintained and that a safe working environment is upheld before, during, and after testing procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Production and Engineering to meet target shipment timelines and offer suggestions for enhancing component quality or system performance.

Educational and Experience Requirements

Education

An Associate degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering or Technology. Alternatively, 5+ years of electrical/electromechanical experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience

A minimum of 8 years in a similar role within a manufacturing setting.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

Strong organizational and communication abilities. Proficient electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic skills. Capability to manage multiple projects and their milestones while ensuring high-quality standards. Self-motivated individual who can operate with minimal oversight. Robust troubleshooting skills to address equipment and system challenges. Ability to collaborate with diverse teams to achieve targeted objectives. Flexibility and multitasking skills are essential for thriving in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with software and computer systems. Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and control systems.
