We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at UMC Health System. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide delegated nursing care to patients under the guidance of a licensed healthcare provider
  • Perform activities that assist physicians, mid-level providers, nursing personnel, and radiology technicians
  • Conduct business in a professional manner and work as a team with other members of the clinic
  • Deliver direct patient care to patients as assigned, using established procedures
  • Document history, recording and reporting pertinent observations and patient reactions to staff, as appropriate
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CMA certification from the NHA, NAHP, AAMA, or NCCT (preferred)
  • One-year experience as a Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant in a clinical setting (preferred)
Work Environment

Works in a well-lit, heated, and ventilated building. Exposure to blood-borne pathogens may be high.

Physical Requirements

Full range of body motion, including lifting and handling patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods, correct vision and hearing to normal ranges, and occasionally lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
