Position Overview:
Amergis Healthcare Staffing is in search of a dedicated Operating Room Nurse to fulfill essential roles in surgical procedures, including scrubbing and circulating duties. This position is crucial for ensuring smooth operations within the surgical suite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit and implement aseptic techniques consistently.
- Follow established standards for aseptic practices, including:
- Preoperative hand scrubbing
- Gowning and gloving
- Setting up instrumentation and supplies
- Prepare the surgical environment by identifying and organizing necessary instruments and supplies.
- Demonstrate the ability to set up the surgical area efficiently with minimal oversight.
- Assist in maintaining accurate counts of instruments and sponges as per facility protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain and update surgeons' preference cards as required.
- Ensure the operating room is stocked with necessary supplies.
- Promote teamwork and collaboration to achieve nursing goals and share responsibilities.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor towards colleagues, patients, and other stakeholders.
- Seek guidance and support when necessary, recognizing personal limitations.
- Adhere to confidentiality protocols regarding patient information and hospital communications.
- Engage in continuous education to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the relevant state.
- Preferred: One year of operating room experience in an acute care setting within the last three years.
- Current BLS certification.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
- Demonstrated physical dexterity and sensory acuity necessary for the role.
- Current health certifications as applicable.
- Successful completion of the Amergis Staffing Solutions testing process.
