Job Description

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is a leading academic medical center in downtown Chicago, offering a unique opportunity for nurses to develop their skills in a state-of-the-art facility. Our Surgical Services Clinical Nurse position is a key role in our team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the operating room.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in the operating room, including pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-operative care.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in the OR Nurse Residency Program, a comprehensive program that teaches novice nurses the fundamentals of intraoperative nursing.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in surgical services, including knowledge of surgical procedures, patient assessment, and care planning.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and systems to support safe and effective care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing.
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher.
  • Current State of Illinois, Registered Professional Nurse license.
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation recognition (healthcare provider level) through American Heart Association.
  • Strong human relation skills to interact effectively and collaborate with others in difficult situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in specific clinical area.
  • Nursing specialty certification, if eligible.
