Key Responsibilities of the Financial Director:
- Financial Management:
- Oversee and manage the financial operations of the NYS 853 Program.
- Ensure precise and timely financial reporting in accordance with NYS 853 regulations.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to uphold fiscal responsibility.
- Budget Development:
- Collaborate with program managers to create and monitor annual budgets.
- Provide insights on budgetary issues and strive for enhanced financial efficiency.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about NYS 853 Program regulations and ensure the organization’s financial practices comply with these standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any findings.
- Financial Reporting:
- Generate financial reports for management and funding agencies.
- Analyze financial data and present findings to support decision-making processes.
- Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance staff knowledge of financial procedures and compliance.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or relevant certification preferred.
- Demonstrated experience as a Controller or in a similar role, ideally within a NYS 853 Program or comparable disability service organization.
- Thorough understanding of NYS 853 Program regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
