RHF is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and common areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete daily work orders promptly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to our operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, roofs, and common areas to identify and address any deficiencies or safety hazards.
  • Report any safety concerns to the Building Manager and direct Supervisor, and take prompt action to mitigate risks.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and extend the lifespan of our equipment and systems.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on a range of equipment, including toilets, sinks, bathtubs/showers, exterior drains, appliances, and HVAC systems.
  • Replace lights, fixtures, and electrical outlets as needed, and perform patching, painting, and caulking tasks to maintain a high level of aesthetic appeal.
  • Maintain each storage and electrical room in a clean and organized manner, ensuring easy access to equipment and supplies.
  • Conduct monthly fire extinguisher inspections and schedule and complete unit turnovers as required.
  • Perform various janitorial tasks as needed to maintain a clean and safe environment.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Candidate must be able to function in an on-call capacity and have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift or move objects weighing at least 50lbs.
  • Must be able to handle constant change in a fast-paced environment and be able to deal with multiple people and various situations simultaneously.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Must have at least 4-6 years' experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
  • Knowledge of REAC/NSPIRE regulations and other relevant industry standards.
