Position Summary: We are seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant (MOHs) for our Chesterfield and Glen Carbon offices. The Medical Assistant will be tasked with executing high-quality medical, clinical, and administrative duties within a healthcare environment. We welcome candidates with no prior experience but who possess a keen interest in healthcare, teamwork experience, and attention to detail, along with a flexible schedule.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 30+ hours. Availability is required Monday through Friday during operational hours of 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Flexibility to support team coverage is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a professional and inviting atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care provided to patients and their respective providers.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all standard operating procedures and policies relevant to the clinical department.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of clinical treatments to effectively address patient needs, including proficiency in pre-care and post-care treatment instructions.
  • Ensure all equipment is checked at the start of each shift and maintain treatment rooms in pristine condition. Conduct daily scans of retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies, notifying the team and management of any low inventory levels as necessary.
  • Manage inventory responsibilities and restock supplies and equipment as requested.
  • Complete all required training and continuing education within the designated time frame.
  • Assist physicians during Mohs surgery, medical, cosmetic, allergy, and/or laser procedures. Prepare surgical/exam rooms for all procedures and ensure proper cleaning after each visit.
  • Accurately assist providers in documenting prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations, obtaining consents, and/or procedures in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Process payments, schedule follow-up appointments, and track inventory used during visits as needed.
  • Learn and comply with new workflows, including Klara paperwork, patient notifications, and messaging.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the office and manage waste disposal.
  • Support front desk operations or greeter responsibilities as required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of HIPAA & OSHA compliance.
  • May be assigned additional tasks related to office and patient care as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in an outpatient surgical clinical environment is strongly preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification is highly encouraged.
  • Experience with EMR software and patient scheduling systems is preferred.
  • For those in the allergy field, experience with allergy testing (skin prick, patch, and spirometry) is preferred.
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with Outlook.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Excellent patient relations and customer service skills are required.
  • Strong follow-up skills and a sense of ownership/accountability are necessary.
  • Must be a professional, reliable, and dedicated employee.
  • Open availability to work during scheduled hours is essential.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA & OSHA compliance is required.
