Job Summary

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
  • No experience required

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Licensed Physician Assistant by the Texas Physician Assistant Board/Texas Medical Board (TPAB/TMB)

Eligible candidates include current students who have not yet completed their physician assistant program or recent graduates who have not yet obtained their NCCPA certification or TPAB/TMB physician assistant license. Official employment is contingent upon the successful completion of an accredited physician assistant program, NCCPA certification, and TPAB/TMB physician assistant licensure.

Job Duties

The person in this position will provide patient care assistance to patients under the oversight of an orthopaedic hand surgeon. Responsibilities include direct patient care, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients. The individual will participate in all activities of the Department, including conferences and lectures, clinics, and inpatient services; continuing medical education; and local, regional, and national meetings.

This position will provide clinic and surgical services at the Galveston, League City, and Clear Lake Campuses.

Salary Range

Up to $135,000.00, commensurate with experience.
