Position Overview

We are thrilled to welcome a Senior Product Manager to our Group Protection division, focusing on the areas of quoting and underwriting. Lincoln Financial Group is embarking on a transformative journey to enhance our underwriting quoting and pricing framework through improved segmentation, innovative business processes, and technology upgrades. As we increase our investment in this initiative, we require a Product Manager to lead one of our agile delivery teams. In this role, you will be an integral part of the Agile Product Owner team within Group Protection, responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog for an Agile development team. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to grasp customer and business requirements, you will work closely with business stakeholders, agile product managers, third-party solution providers, and software engineering to implement solutions that align with our organizational goals and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide a delivery team focused on the underwriting value stream supporting our third-party quoting platform.
  • Craft User Stories for implementation by an Agile software development team.
  • Continuously prioritize the product backlog to ensure the Agile software development team is concentrating on the most valuable tasks.
  • Coordinate with other Product Managers and team members to manage inter-team dependencies.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to comprehend their needs and current or emerging trends to refine the long-term roadmap.
Qualifications

Essential:

  • 5 - 7+ years of experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, or a related Agile role within a development team that aligns with the responsibilities of this position.
  • Demonstrated ability as a strong collaborator and communicator.
  • Experience with Group/Employee Benefits product lines, including Disability Insurance, Absence Management, Group Life Insurance, Dental/Vision Insurance, and/or Supplemental Health Insurance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's).

Preferred:

  • Product Owner or other Agile certifications.
  • Experience with third-party underwriting and quoting platforms.
