Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and career-focused Cybersecurity Risk Management Engineer II to enhance our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Cybersecurity Specialist for the organization’s systems.
  • Conduct daily security assessments of RMF packages to ensure timely updates and notifications.
  • Revise RMF Security Control Families as necessary and manage the process through eMASS.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of NIST standards and controls, determining their applicability to various applications, and document implementations in the Security Controls Traceability Matrix.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to Program Managers and Security Authorities to uphold suitable information assurance (IA) postures for programs and systems.
  • Perform evaluations to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities, ensuring that all security features applied to a system are operational and effective.
  • Oversee and resolve Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) to address system vulnerabilities on assigned Information Systems.
  • Draft and maintain security Assessment and Authorization documentation, including IA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), System Security Plans (SSP), and Risk Assessment Reports (RAR).
  • Supervise the development, implementation, and assessment of information system security program policies, with a focus on integration with existing network infrastructures.
  • Develop and present IA risk management recommendations to clients.
  • Represent the Government Program Manager in various working groups and advisory councils related to System Security Engineering.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years in a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) or Special Access Program (SAP) environment.
  • 2 years of experience in SAP is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (4 years).
  • Must fulfill position and certification requirements as outlined in DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level 1 and Information Assurance Manager Level 2 within 6 months of hire.

Security Clearance:

  • Current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
  • Willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph examination.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with security policies/manuals and relevant ICDs/JAFANs/DOD Manuals.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) processes for system accreditation.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and effectively collaborate with various DOD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Exhibit a high degree of creativity, initiative, and independence.
  • Willingness to travel within the organizational Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
  • Occasional movement within the office to access files and equipment.
  • Frequent operation of computers and other office machinery.
  • Regular communication with colleagues and clients, which may involve delivering presentations.
