Job Summary

Lapeer Plating & Plastics, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and organized Administrative Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our front office, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional presence at the front desk, greeting visitors and issuing visitor badges as needed.
  • Answer questions and schedule meetings for visitors and applicants, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Distribute important documents and briefings to contractors, and retain sign-offs as required.
  • Manage multi-line phones, answering questions and redirecting calls as necessary.
  • Operate the plant-wide paging system, assist with mass emails, calls, or texts, and maintain accurate records.
  • Responsible for mail sorting, both incoming and outgoing, and daily tracking of attendance, lateness, call-ins, and absences.
  • Maintain and organize personnel files and folders, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Manage stock and inventory of tools, office supplies, and production supplies in front office storage areas.
  • Unpack boxes of supplies, stock supply shelves, and maintain multiple supply lockers.
  • Post and remove signage, and maintain company communication boards.
  • Compile packets for Orientation, Interviews, or Employee notices, and participate in planning and supporting company events, theme days, and parties.
  • Retrieve shippers or invoices from the Shipping Department, assemble booklets, binders, and packets, and maintain required paperwork and postings in office seating.
  • Call backs for interviews, maintain an interview tracker and calendar, and manage in- and outgoing fax databases and voicemail.
  • Maintain a clean and neat workspace, lobby, and conference rooms, and call for maintenance or janitorial services as needed.
  • Support HR, Payroll, and Office Staff as required, and complete miscellaneous projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Professional and pleasant demeanor.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Works, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to communicate effectively with employees and the general public.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of accounting.
  • Organizational skills, able to efficiently multitask.
  • Operate phone systems, fax machines, and copy machines.
