Role Summary:
The Senior Wellness Coordinator is tasked with overseeing the daily operations of care personnel in assisted living and memory support settings, ensuring compassionate and individualized support for residents.
Essential Qualifications for Senior Wellness Coordinator:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in Healthcare, Geriatrics, or working with the elderly population is advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of relevant experience or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
- Ability to comprehend and execute instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagrammatic form.
- Occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds.
Key Responsibilities for Senior Wellness Coordinator:
- Direct, manage, and hold overall responsibility for team performance.
- Ensure punctual and accountable attendance: Adhering to work schedules, being prepared to commence work on time, and maintaining presence throughout the shift with minimal time off.
- Implement and uphold our care standards to guarantee that every resident and their families receive the necessary support.
- Foster a positive experience for our employees.
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Wellness Coordinator:
- Provide direct oversight of a team of ten or more full-time community care staff, including performance monitoring, conducting evaluations, coaching, and necessary corrective actions. Participate in hiring, termination, and disciplinary processes.
- Conduct daily rounds to verify that care staff adhere to assigned tasks and comply with care standards, laws, and regulations. Review care documentation for thoroughness and accuracy.
- Confirm associate hours and manage scheduling to ensure adequate coverage in alignment with community needs and budgetary constraints. Maintain clear records of staffing changes and requests.
- Perform regular safety and infection control assessments of the facility, collaborating with the Wellness Administrator to promote community health and safety.
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained in accordance with company policies.
- Facilitate training for care staff or coordinate training programs as necessary. Conduct orientation for new hires.
- Monitor completion of required training for all care staff and assign additional training as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls from communities and share on-call responsibilities as required.
- Be available for weekend and on-call duties as assigned by the Wellness Administrator.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization.
- Engage in community events, including family gatherings and open houses.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
Working Conditions:
This role requires prolonged periods of standing. The employee must effectively communicate with others, sit, stand, walk, and utilize hands for various tasks. The ability to review detailed documents and interact with computer screens is essential. Occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds may be required. The work environment necessitates appropriate interaction with others, with a moderate noise level. Some travel to different locations may be necessary.
