Position Overview

The Healthcare Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. This position involves a variety of administrative tasks that support patient care and office efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate patient scheduling for future appointments.
  • Manage incoming phone calls professionally.
  • Regularly check and respond to faxes and emails.
  • Facilitate the referral process for patients.
  • Document orders accurately in patient charts.
  • Conduct insurance verifications.
  • Assist with prior authorization requests.
  • Prepare and room patients as necessary.
  • Ensure patient records are maintained accurately and medical charts are updated.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent customer service skills with an emphasis on patient interaction.
  • Familiarity with medical office software such as eClinical Works and Cerner is advantageous but not mandatory.

Work Environment:
  • Office-based setting.
Work Schedule:
  • Full-time hours, Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM.
  • Shorter hours on Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM.
  • No weekend shifts required.
