Denial Prevention Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Denial Prevention Specialist to join our team at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. As a key member of our Revenue Cycle Management department, you will play a critical role in optimizing reimbursement and reducing bad debt.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough analysis of denial trends to identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with clinical departments to resolve claim issues and ensure accurate reimbursement
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce denial rates and increase revenue
- Stay up-to-date on payer contracts, state and federal regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless workflow and timely resolution of issues
- Associate's degree and a minimum of 3 years' experience in healthcare denial prevention
- Knowledge of payer benefit policies and utilization review experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work effectively under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to write clear and concise payer appeals
- Collaborative team style and open communication, with ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders
- IRF medical billing experience
- Knowledge of ICD-9-CM and CPT coding classification systems
This is a full-time position, working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
