Job Summary

Cherry Health is seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a key member of our integrated healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing preventative and maintenance dental care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and polish teeth, remove calculus deposits, and stains from teeth and beneath gums
  • Apply topical fluoride treatments and pit and fissure sealants as approved by the dentist
  • Expose and develop x-ray film for use by the dentist
  • Educate patients in proper oral hygiene techniques for plaque removal
  • Record information in charts and initiate ongoing patient recall system for maintenance of teeth
  • Assist the dentist as directed
Requirements
  • Degree from an accredited school of dental hygiene and license from the state of Michigan to practice dental hygiene
  • One year experience working in a dental practice preferred
  • Basic Life Support/CPR training according to requirements of license and/or certification
  • Ability to perform routine dental laboratory and dental patient care tasks
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers, public, and patients
