Job Summary

The City of Arlington seeks a highly skilled Asset Management Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Water Utilities Department, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining our infrastructure asset management program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the Water Utilities Department's infrastructure asset management program, ensuring compliance with industry-established principles, methodologies, and standards.
  • Provide technical expertise to lead subject area teams in establishing standards, systems, and procedures for asset management, including:
    • Improving asset reliability
    • Reducing risk
    • Optimizing departmental resources
    • Creating and maintaining asset inventories
    • Condition assessment standards
    • Preventive maintenance systems
    • Key performance indicators to monitor and report performance of systems
  • Utilize asset condition and performance data to prepare data-driven renewal recommendations and projections for short and long-range financial planning.
  • Select, train, evaluate, discipline, and supervise subordinates to ensure the department's objectives are met.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering
  • 5 to 7 years' experience in utility infrastructure asset management
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Texas or ability to secure within six months
  • Possession of a valid Texas Driver's License
  • Asset management certification from the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) or Buried Asset Management Institute International (BAMI-I) or ability to secure within six months
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of programming and coding languages such as Python, VBA, SOL
  • Skill in supervising cross-functional teams and departments to achieve long-term goals
