Asset Management Engineer

Under general supervision, the Asset Management Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining the Water Utilities Department's infrastructure Asset Management Program following industry-established principles, methodologies, and standards. The position supervises asset information data collection, condition assessment, and data processing staff members.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, oversee implementation, and provide ongoing support to sustain the Water Utilities Department's infrastructure asset management program.
- Provide technical expertise to organize and lead subject area teams to establish standards, systems, and procedures, including asset reliability improvement, risk reduction, resource optimization, asset inventory creation and maintenance, condition assessment standards, preventive maintenance systems, and key performance indicators to monitor and report performance.
- Utilize asset condition and performance data to prepare data-driven renewal recommendations and projections for short and long-range financial planning.
- Select, train, evaluate, discipline, and supervise subordinates to ensure the department's objectives are met.
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
- 5 to 7 years' experience in the field of utility infrastructure asset management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Texas or ability to secure within six months.
- Possession of a valid Texas Driver's License.
- Asset management certification from the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) or Buried Asset Management Institute International (BAMI-I) or ability to secure within six months.
- Knowledge of programming and coding languages such as Python, VBA, and SOL.
- Skill in supervising cross-functional teams and departments to achieve a long-term set of goals.
