About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of our data centers, ensuring that they are built to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

You will work closely with our operations, networking, controls, security, and commissioning teams to design and build data centers that meet our customers' needs. Your expertise in electrical and mechanical systems will be essential in ensuring that our data centers are equipped with the latest technology and are able to operate at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the construction of data centers, ensuring that they are built to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Work closely with our operations, networking, controls, security, and commissioning teams to design and build data centers that meet our customers' needs.
  • Develop and implement construction project plans, ensuring that they are aligned with our business objectives.
  • Manage construction vendors and contractors, ensuring that they are meeting our quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct financial analysis of construction projects, ensuring that they are within budget and on schedule.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent engineering science.
  • 4+ years of experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants.
  • 4+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience, including request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI/submittal tracking.
  • 4+ years of experience constructing electrical engineering systems, including large-scale power distribution/generation gear and constructing mechanical engineering systems, including cooling systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience directly related to the design or construction of data centers/critical infrastructure or large-scale mechanical and electrical plants.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to use data to justify conclusions.
  • Value engineering: proven ability to reduce costs through creative solutions with no impact on quality and reliability.
  • Certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
