Position Summary:
The Aircraft Assembly Technician C is responsible for the assembly, installation, rigging, and reworking of mechanical and electrical systems in aircraft. This role may involve working under the guidance of more experienced operators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to airplane orders, blueprints, engineering specifications, and standard procedures while performing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Conduct layout, mathematical computations, and planning necessary for the assembly and installation of various major aircraft structures, landing gear systems, propellers, and optional equipment.
- Install and/or rework engine accessories, including oil and fuel pumps, generators, and hydraulic and vacuum pumps.
- Service, install, and adjust radio and electrical systems on aircraft, making recommendations for essential changes as needed.
- Utilize aircraft mechanic's hand tools, including screwdrivers, torque wrenches, pliers, hammers, and sheet metal tools such as rivet guns and drill motors.
- Repair and rework sheet metal components through operations such as cutting, filing, drilling, countersinking, fitting, shimming, riveting, and bucking.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education: A high school diploma, equivalent certification, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is required. Proficiency in basic arithmetic, blueprints, and specifications is essential.
Experience: A minimum of six (6) months of experience in final assembly, sheet metal assembly, or radio and electrical repair, or related fields is required.
